Week #4 Homework

We worked with natural light this week! My daughter posed for most of the pictures and she is an artist so we used her paintbrushes in a few shots.  I have to admit that I am "Photoshop Phobic" so my pictures are not cropped at their best!  Emily had fun trying to "catch some air" for one of the shots.  The challenge there was finding the right spot! The toughest picture type to capture this week for me was the back lit silhouette.  I did have trouble with the camera not wanting to focus, lens flare and my subject at times was not dark enough. Brooke's videos this week were great and it was fun to "join her" on an actual photo shoot!

Week #3 Homework

This week's assignment was to work with composition.  We are still waiting for the sun to come out and the gray of winter to disappear so I went in search of some color.  I tried a version of Brooke's apple idea and used a brightly colored orange...no willing subjects though so the orange took center stage!  The purple railing/fence was a challenge with the lines but it was fun to photograph!

Week #2 Homework

This week's homework assignment was to work with motion.  My husband was a patient subject.  It gave him a good excuse to practice his golf swing! :)

Week #1 Homework

I've been dreaming of pink daisies as the snow slowly melts here in New England. The edge of my raised garden bed is finally in sight under the mounds of white.  There is hope!  Now if only the sun were as visible....

My first set of pictures was taken for the "storytelling" assignment taken of a white barn in our small town.
Image #1:  f /5   1/2000
Image #2:  f/11  1/400
Image #3:  f/16  1/200

My second set of pictures was taken for the "who cares" assignment taken of a weathered barn on historic Waters Farm in town.
Image #1:  f/5    1/40
Image #2:  f/8    1/40
Image #3:  f/16  1/13

My third set of pictures was taken for the "singular theme" assignment of some flowers in my home.
